Title: Organisational Justice and Its Relevance for HRM
Overview: Issues of justice and fairness are never far from the headlines: welfare reform, public sector pay and CEO bonuses are just some of the current examples in the press.
Research has shown that the ideals of fairness and justice are a basic requirement for the effective functioning of organisations and for the job satisfaction of the individuals they employ. Employees' motivation, well-being, performance and engagement are all influenced by how fairly individuals believe they are being treated. Consequently, it is important to understand the influence that people policies have on employees' perceptions of fairness and justice and ensure that these insights are applied to how people policies are implemented.
