About the event
Maria will delve into insights from her doctoral research, addressing two critical dimensions:
- Unpacking the Expectations: What do line managers (in large international companies) want and need from leadership development programmes?
- Bridging the Gap: How can their wants and needs be met?
As the Global Head of Talent Development at Betsson Group, Maria leads a combined function of Learning and Development, Performance Management, and Diversity and Inclusion across the Group's 16 global locations. With a background in iGaming, Banking, and Manufacturing, she has led large L&D functions and implemented comprehensive talent development and management strategies. Her expertise lies in designing impactful leadership development programmes, backed by her doctoral research at the University of Glasgow focused on optimising these programmes based on the needs of line managers in large international companies. She is a certified Coaching Supervisor and Coach.
As a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging leader, Maria has received international recognition, including the title of HR Diversity Champion in the 2023 Global Diversity List published in The Guardian. She is also a founding member of Malta's first official Diversity and Inclusion network and serves as a judge at the Women In Gaming Diversity Awards.
